Types of pumps

Centrifugal pumps

Centrifugal pump works by moving fluids using centrifugal forces. The basic version of a centrifugal pump contains an impeller that rotates within a pump housing. Both a suction line and a pressure line are attached to this pump house. A standard centrifugal pump cannot move air and is therefore not self-priming.

Rotary lobe pumps

A rotary lobe pump is a positive displacement pump that functions on the basis of an opposing rotor mechanism. This pump is ideally suited for liquids with a high viscosity. Thanks to the gentle and even movement of the liquid, the rotary lobe pump is ideal for pumping sensitive liquids.

Self priming pumps

A self-priming centrifugal pump is ideal for systems where priming is difficult and a normally priming pump is inadequate. After filling the pump housing with liquid, the pump automatically pumps air from the suction line. The air mixes with the liquid and is pumped out through the discharge opening. Once the air is gone, the pump sucks in fluid effortlessly.

Progressive cavity pumps

A worm pump is ideal for pumping challenging liquids, such as non-lubricating and abrasive liquids or mixtures that should not be damaged. These positive displacement pumps are perfect for both high viscosity and thin liquids.

Flexible impeller pumps

A flexible impeller pump (FIP) works by using rubber vanes that rotate in a pump housing with a cam. With each turn, the blades are bent, displacing the fluid between the blades.

Twin screw pump

A screw spindle pump is a positive displacement pump that works with two rotating screws. These screws form closed chambers that move in an axial direction, creating a vacuum on the inlet side and pressure on the outlet.

Gear pumps

The Alfa Laval M Gear pump efficiently transfers low-volume, clean fluids for hygienic and industrial uses. It offers high efficiency, easy maintenance, and quick service, with a compact design and interchangeable parts, adapting to various process requirements.

Sanitary Drum Pumps

The sanitary drum pumps provide a safe and hygienic method of transferring ingredients from the drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). Manufactured from stainless steel, these pumps are equipped with Tri-Clamp® fittings and can be easily disassembled for cleaning.

Diaphragm Pumps

Provides reliability, efficiency and transfer control for all liquid and sheer sensitive materials, can handle viscous and abrasive products and often work in the toughest conditions and most demanding applications.
